The Story of Caster Semenya

    

This morning I woke up to a story that filled me with massive disappointment. The story of Caster Semenya, which is unfolding as we speak. Currently, Semenya is dealing with a direct attack on her purpose, her gifts, and overall her life. Semenya is a middle-distance runner from South Africa. For years she has been successful in competitions such as the Olympics where she won the gold medal in the 800-meter events during the 2012 Olympics, just to name one! Her gifts and talents shine when she runs, and it has been so favorable that it has provided a living and generational success. 

Back in 2012, she was disrespected when her competitors were in denial of her pure talents. Accusing her of being a man. They tested against her permission for her gender, and they found higher amounts of testosterone than that of which is found in most women.  Semenya is a woman, born a woman, and it is actually more common than most may think. This violating experience was taken and ran with by the opponents of Semenya. 

Trying to discredit her, in such desperate matters is bluntly terrible. And more people should speak up about this situation and fight for her, especially people in her camp. Semenya was recently attacked once again un-morally and was given an ultimatum that seems highly illegal. Semenya was told to drop out of competing or take a highly risky medication to regulate her natural amounts of testosterone. They are literally altering the rules against her, to aid the other competitors. This situation is highly absurd, and I feel immensely for Semenya. Feeling so largely attacked from different angles. How can you feel welcomed and embraced in your profession, when people are trying to discredit you for who you naturally are. It's a battle of your worth, it's a fight to get your voice heard. I am on her side, and I hope that she gets the opportunity to get through this with success, and that her attackers are reprimanded.
